EDUCATION

    Kyle Whitaker obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the famed Louisiana State University School of Law. While in law school, he excelled in trial advocacy and earned the honor of representing his law school in National trial advocacy competitions. He was one of the few selected to serve on the Student Bar Association where he held the offices of Vice President and treasurer.

    Throughout law school, Kyle was selected to work for a Nationally known criminal law firm and participated in numerous high profile State and Federal criminal cases providing pre-trial preparation, legal research and trial briefs as well as major criminal litigation.

LEGAL CAREER

    After graduation, he returned to Texas to begin his legal career and began his work for a major Criminal Defense Firm representing clients, investigating criminal cases and analyzing and advising concerning all levels of criminal cases.

ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY

    After his tenure with the Law Firm, Kyle was hired by the trial division of the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney, he handled thousands of criminal cases in all the felony and misdemeanor courts in Tarrant County. Because he excelled in trial advocacy, he was promoted to the status of Felony level prosecutor and was selected to prosecute cases in the esteemed Gang Prosecution Unit. As a prosecutor, he handled numerous high profile cases including capital murder, aggravated felonies, sexual assaults, juvenile, robberies, and all levels of drug offenses.

PRIVATE PRACTICE

    In 1998, Kyle left the District Attorney’s Office in order to devote his full time and energy to the type of law to which he is most dedicated- the aggressive representation and protection of the rights of those accused of crimes. As a criminal Defense attorney, he has successfully defended high profile criminal cases at every level in the criminal process. He also began a practice in all areas of family law wherein his trial skills allowed him to quickly attain a reputation as an able family law attorney.

HONORS

    Kyle was awarded the honor of being named one of the Top 100 Family Law Attorney’s in Texas by Fort Worth Magazine as well as being accepted as a Life Member of the Kingston’s National Registry of Who’s Who in the Law. He was further honored by being elected to the elite American Inns of Court Foundation and he was selected to serve on the Mental Health Association board of directors for Tarrant County. He also lectures at legal seminars advising and educating other attorneys in the law.

ADMISSIONS TO THE BAR

    Kyle is a member of the State Bar of Texas, The Tarrant County Bar Association, The Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, The Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has been admitted to the bar in the Federal District Courts for the Northern District as well as the Fifth Circuit Federal Court.
